I was lucky enough to make it out to the shining jewel in the crown of Oklahoma's lineup of summer events: The Oklahoma State Fair!
I had great conversations with Oklahoma voters today. I spoke with people from all sides and we all agree that the country is heading in the wrong direction. We talked about public education, protecting the 2nd Amendment, and veteran services.
The working class needs real representation from Americans who know life’s daily struggles. There’s a difference between a rough patch and years of hardship—where one disaster overlaps another before you’ve recovered from the last.
That’s how people fall into homelessness, crushing debt, and the daily weight of hopelessness.
I know what it feels like to live without electricity, water, or heat because the grocery bill left nothing for utilities. I’ve experienced it more than once. Eating by candlelight may look romantic in the movies, but it’s not when you’re forced to choose between feeding your kids or paying the light bill.
How can a lifelong millionaire or billionaire truly empathize with that? They can’t.
But I can.
And that’s why I’m running. When I win, I’ll be the first formerly homeless foster kid to hold this Senate seat, proof that no matter where you start, you can fight for change.
This campaign isn’t fueled by billionaires or special interests. It’s Built, Not Bought, powered by everyday Oklahomans who want their voices heard in Washington.
